I think all of the songs are from the top ten albums except I play Rock Bottom by UFO from Phenomenon at beginning, first song is Calvary Cross from I Want To See the Bright Lights Tonight, I played Flick of the Wrist by Queen and At Home At Work At Play by Sparks as interstitials from Sheer Heart Attack and Propaganda.
Thanks. As soon as I typed that message, I realized that you named all the songs...but I just need to listen again to this episode again. So, as soon as I finished this episode, I headed over to Amazon Prime Music...and found a lot of Slade. Started listening to Old New Borrowed and Blue. I have no idea how I've missed this band up until now. Heck, I'd even forgotten that they were the original band that sang "Come on feel the noise" but I am very pleased to have listened to this episode and found a new band. Not coincidentally, after Pods and Sods did their Best Albums of the 70s tournament, I decided to listen to a lot of those *albums*. I know the hit songs but now I'm listening to the albums that spawned them. And I'm having a blast. Happiest surprise to date: entire Band on the Run album. And now Slade. It's gonna be a great summer.
For me, a die-hard Chicago fan, 1974 saw the release of their last double-LP, Chicago VII, with LP 1 consisting of mostly instrumentals and one of my favorite scripted solos by Terry Kath.
BTW, great podcast you got here. I've known you via Podkisst but now am going through y'all's collection.
Yes I envy you getting to dig into Slade for the first time, you should check episode number three which was about Glam Rock, lots of Slade on there plus other similar great music
