HAWAII - ESCAPE THE NIGHT
HAWAII - TURN IT LOUDER

  1. WOW! Thank you so much for this! Just happened to do a google search for Marty Friedman Hawaii and this was one of the results! Great stuff!

I was fortunate enough to catch the final, 5 piece Hawaii line-up as a young headbanger (13 or 14) with my family on our annual visit to the 50th State Fair. It was between Loud, Wild and Heavy and The Natives are Restless releases. I would love, LOVE to hear you interview some of the other 80's bands from Hawaii like Sacred Rite (my personal fave, currently reissuing their 80's material on Marquee Records) and the mighty Aaronsrod.

Speaking of reissues, Loud Wild and Heavy needs to finally see an official release on cd - the Eddie Day era of Marty Friedman's Hawaii was kick ass!
